High Performance Computers

WCSS provides the access to high performance computing hardware for scientific research purposes, referred to as High Performance Computers (HPC). Our hardware, software applications and systems are known for their high quality and reliability.

WASK

WASK Network

The WASK network connects the academic institutions of Wrocław, providing them with access to Polish national network PIONIER and European network GÉANT2. Its infrastructure includes 23 nods and over 140 km of fibre-optic routes.

The HPC unit participates in many national and international projects which concern the development and the security of both grid infrastructures and HPC as well as the research on new technologies and the optimisation of scientific applications.

Experience and potential

PRACE-LAB

PRACE-LAB2 – Cooperation in the extent of advanced computing in Europe is a continuation of the PRACE-LAB project. The main goal of the project is to provide specialized e-infrastructure for analytics of large volumes of data and other advanced computing HPC services, including those related to artificial intelligence and machine learning as well as simulation of quantum computing.

AZON 2.0

Project Atlas of Open Science Resources 2.0 aims to increase accessibility, improve quality and extend possibilities of re-use of scientific resources. It assumes digital access to resources of high importance to the field of science and economy, in the form of publications, multimedia, collections and databases.

PIONIER-LAB

The goal of project PIONIER-LAB – National Platform for Integration of Research Infrastructures with Innovation Ecosystems is, on one hand, to increase the level of market exploitation of research results and, on the other hand, to support ICT technology for researchers conducting interdisciplinary research in key research areas in the PIONIER-LAB ecosystem from fields other than ICT.

Beesensor

Within the Beesensor project - Development of innovative, intelligent tools for monitoring the occurrence of American foulbrood and elevated levels of Varroa destructor infestation in honeybee colonies, an analytical platform was developed for the purpose of determining the welfare of bee colonies with particular emphasis on monitoring the level of infestation with disease entities (varroa and American foulbrood).
