PIONIER-LAB

STATUS: CURRENT

The goal of project PIONIER-LAB – National Platform for Integration of Research Infrastructures with Innovation Ecosystems is, on one hand, to increase the level of market exploitation of research results and, on the other hand, to support ICT technology for researchers conducting interdisciplinary research in key research areas in the PIONIER-LAB ecosystem from fields other than ICT.
The project PIONIER-LAB includes the creation of 8 unique, specialized research laboratories:
  1. Laboratory of Innovative Network Technologies
  2. The Distributed Time and Frequency Laboratory
  3. Smart Kampus as Smart City Lab
  4. Regional 'Living' Innovation Laboratories inspired by ICT
  5. Cloud Services Laboratory
  6. Laboratory of Multiscale Simulations
  7. Laboratory and e-training services (at extent of PIONIER-LAB and technology-driven innovation)
  8. Pre-incubation Laboratory.
Wroclaw Centre for Networking and Supercomputing is involved in seven laboratories (1, 3-8).   Through the national optical fiber network PIONIER, the platform that enables the use of laboratories will be made available to research units, entrepreneurs and other entities conducting research and development work. The project also aims to enable close cooperation between sector of industry and academic environment in joint research work, including new technologies related to the social web, secure e-commerce and next generation networks.
